The Wish List: Music You’d Like To Hear on the Show

I’ve been listening to a lot of Cary Brothers lately, and every time I hear “The Glass Parade”, I think it’d be a great song for a contemporary piece - or for a contestant’s solo.  The chorus even says, “We are dancing in the glass parade.” 

Last week, I asked what songs you’ve become a fan of after hearing them on the show.  This time, I’d like to know What songs you’d like to hear used in a routine?

  2. As a long time dancer and sometime choreographer I am always listening to music with an ear for something that would make a great dance piece. Right now I am working on something in my head to No Envy No Fear by Joshua Radin. unfortunately i have moved away from my annual dance show so i no longer have an outlet for my choreography. That’s going to make watching this year so much harder because it has always served as inspiration for me going into the auditions which take place every fall. I got to dance all winter, and then spend all summer seeing how it is really done and dreaming of the next year. oh well - I can still live vicariously through the talent on SYTYCD. Maybe I’ll get so inspired i’ll start a show in my new town!

  4. lonek8, welcome! it would be so cool if you started a show in your new town! it sounds like you have the experience & drive. i hope you have the means to go for it! hope to hear from you more about sytycd as the show progresses this year!

    p.s. i checked my ipod to see if i had that joshua radin song, and i don’t. :( i have one of his albums.

  6. One song I don’t want to hear is “I’m Yours” I love Jason Mraz, but I am tired of that song. That just had it on Idol again. I think Lady Gaga’s Poker Face would be cool. “Calabria 2008″ by Enur would be fun.

  8. I am listening to “Keep Your Head” by The Ting Tings and it has a cool beat. :)

  10. I have never heard any of those songs, Manders. I will sometime have to sample them on amazon. It is likely they’ll be used, though! They love really current, really popular stuff!!

  18. I bet Napolean and Tabitha will do something to Beyonce’s “Halo” and maybe we’ll see something to “You Found Me” (don’t know the name of the artist but sounds kinda like The Fray).

  20. I think MGMT’s “Time To Pretend” would be awesome for a large group routine.

  22. I totally laughed last night, because I heard Lady GaGa’s Poker Face, but it was with a horrible audition!!! it was so funny.

  24. That’s funny. Right now on amazon mp3, there’s a dance mix for sale and I bet we’ll hear several of those tunes on the show this summer.
